One Nation Rally Proves Glenn Beck is Correct

Glenn Beck has told us repeatedly that there are more of us conservatives than there are liberals. They just have a perceived strength due to their dominance of mainstream (lame-stream?) media outlets and Hollywood which magnifies their significance in American life. Well, along comes the One Nation Rally to prove Glenn correct: Some 400 Leftist organizations* come together to sponsor a rally in response to Glenn Beck's 8/28 "Restoring Honor" rally. (Obviously, you must take a stand against honor being restored in America!) With a laundry-list of Unions requiring attendance by their members, and every environmental and communist organization in the country banding together in a show of force, they managed to get MAYBE a quarter of the crowd Glenn drew....and that's probably very generous. The photos speak for themselves.

View them here: http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2010/10/animated-gif-compare-and-contrast-crowd.html

Notice all the green grass NOT being covered by a Leftist in the second photo? So don't be fooled. We still outnumber the militant Leftists by four-to-one AT LEAST! Let's get to the polls and vote out ANYONE that events hints at supporting any portion of their liberal agenda!

-------

*Sadly, along side the Communists and the anti-Jewish groups stood the United Methodist Church. For you few Bible-believing Methodists still left in the UMC, it's time to start looking for a true Christian church to attend. Regrettably, they've left Biblical principles and YOU behind in their push forward into radical liberalism.

Why Mark Dayton is wrong again!

Mark Dayton, the bored Trust Fund Baby who is perpetually running for a political office he's woefully incompetent to hold, is on the campaign trail again with one of the oldest class-envy schticks the Democrats have relied on for generations: Make the Rich Pay Their Fair Share.

Now, no one can really define what their "fair" share is, considering the top 20% pay 80% of the taxes. Do they think they should pay ALL the taxes and let the rest of us live tax free? Would that be "fair"?

The reality is, this Democrat/Dayton forumula has been tried time and time again with disasterous results.

Here's the tax realities in a report from the Congressional Budget office:

The overwhelming majority of federal income taxes are paid by the highest income earners with the top 1% of income earners paying approximately 32% of all income taxes. The top 5% pays 51.4% while top 10% of high income earners, pay 63.5%. Drop to the top 20% of income earners and you find they pay 78% of all federal income taxes.

So it's the the old 80/20 Rule in action...80% of the federal government bill is paid by 20% of the workers.

So let's see how the "Tax the Rich" concept works in the real world: From the Wall Street Journal:

Here's a two-minute drill in soak-the-rich economics:

Maryland couldn't balance its budget last year, so the state tried to close the shortfall by fleecing the wealthy. Politicians in Annapolis created a millionaire tax bracket, raising the top marginal income-tax rate to 6.25%. And because cities such as Baltimore and Bethesda also impose income taxes, the state-local tax rate can go as high as 9.45%. Governor Martin O'Malley, a dedicated class warrior, declared that these richest 0.3% of filers were "willing and able to pay their fair share." The Baltimore Sun predicted the rich would "grin and bear it."

One year later, nobody's grinning. One-third of the millionaires have disappeared from Maryland tax rolls. In 2008 roughly 3,000 million-dollar income tax returns were filed by the end of April. This year there were 2,000, which the state comptroller's office concedes is a "substantial decline." On those missing returns, the government collects 6.25% of nothing. Instead of the state coffers gaining the extra $106 million the politicians predicted, millionaires paid $100 million less in taxes than they did last year -- even at higher rates.

Surprise, surprise....stick someone with more of the bill and they decide to leave!

So if we end up with Governor Mark "Moonbat" Dayton as governor of Minnesota and has his way, be prepared for even more revenue shortfalls as we drive those who are paying the bills out of the state.

She wants to be President...

I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, "If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?"

She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people." Her parents beamed.

"Wow...what a worthy goal." I told her, "But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and rake my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guys hang out, and you can give them the $50 to use toward food and a new house."

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why don't the homeless guys come over and do the work, and you can just pay them the $50?"

I shook her hand and said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

...Her parents still aren't speaking to me.

Glenn Beck - Is Obama a socialist?

The Barack Obama story is actually a pretty sad one. No wonder he has such a screwed up world view.

It's amazing this wasn't covered in detail two years ago. If he'd been a Republican or any other party than Democrat, I'm sure he would have been fully covered!

If you didn't see Beck's show on him, check out his summary here:

Time for Change in Minnesota

I wrote Sen. Amy Klobuchar to express my strong opposition to the current health care bill that she voted for in the Senate. In her response she was quick to point out how she "saved" Minnesotans $18 Billion in new taxes on medical device manufacturers. What she didn't highlight was that she voted FOR adding $20 Billion in new taxes TO medical device manufacturers, some of which are based right here in Minnesota. This is everything from pacemakers to tongue depressors.

Of course, in reality, they won't pay those taxes. They'll just raise the prices on all the devices and you and I will pay for them through higher insurance rates, higher hospital costs and through more taxes for Medicaid and Medicare.

So, in other words, to supposedly lower the cost of healthcare, the Demwits have just raised the prices on a significant portion of our healthcare products!

Of course, that's just the tip of the iceberg on the new, onerous taxes that we will ALL be paying shortly if the Demwits in Congress have their way on Sunday. Taxes we will begin paying IMMEDIATELY, but will have to wait four years for any possible benefits (and then I wouldn't hold your breath!)

So, I think it's time to begin the campaign to get rid of those who vote for things NOT in the best interest of Minnesota....or the United States, for that matter. I'm brainstorming some ideas and came up with this one!

I think it would look great along I-694 and I-35 near Medtronic's headquaters. What do you think?

Obama: The Smartest President Ever!

We learned yesterday that Obamacare will result in a 3000% decrease in my health insurance premiums.

Wow!!

I spend about $600 a month, or $7,200 a year. Just a 100% reduction would save me $7,200. But now Obama is going to have my insurer give me another $208,800 per year ($7,200 times 2900%.)

This is going to be awesome!

Does anyone still think this man is as smart as we were led to believe back during the election??

You know, back when he had visited 57 of our 58 states?

Since then we've learned the Marine Corpse has corpsemen.

Had George Bush or, perhaps, Dan Quayle made such an idiotic gaffe, it would be recited by every news outlet endlessly for decades to come!

But when the Annointed One continually sticks his foot in his mouth, reporters all just look around nervously and pretend they didn't hear it!

It's becoming painfully obvious that we have nothing but an empty suit in the White House, a mere puppet dangling on the strings of Andy Stern and the SEIU, along with George Soros and their socialist/communists friends who have put him there.

He's well on the way to making FDR look not so bad....and we know the long-term damage he inflicted on America.

Heritage.org: Deformed Healthcare Reform

From Heritage.org's newsletter:

Deformed health care reform
Many conservatives, including Heritage Foundation experts, have been arguing that the President's supposedly "fresh" 11-page health care proposal is virtually no different from the Senate bill. It's true. The President's draft includes most of the same bad proposals that the Senate bill does. But there is one key difference between the two: The Senate bill actually exists.

Until the President's proposal is drafted as official legislation, the only proposal the House can and will consider is the bill the Senate passed. But the differences between the Senate bill and the one that cleared the House are stark.

To get their bill through the House, Senate liberals and the White House are offering some flaky "fixes." As Heritage's Conn Carroll explains:

The "fixes" that the White House is promising wavering House Democrats they will make all sound easy at first glance: 1) scaling back the tax on high-end health insurance policies; 2) closing the Medicare D loophole; 3) boosting insurance subsidies; 4) increasing Medicaid payments; and 5) fixing the Cornhusker Kickback. But when you take a second look, you see that all of these "fixes" will cost more money. Just look at the Cornhusker Kickback which the President chose to address, not by taking away Nebraska's special Medicaid payments, but by extending those extra Medicaid payments to every state! Every single item in the President's proposal either increases spending or reduces new revenues. And he didn't put forward any way to pay for them. If passing health reform were as easy as giving away free candy, Obamacare would be law already. Finding a way to pay for all these fixes is going to be just as difficult as every earlier effort to pay for this bill. So don't expect any solutions anytime soon.

This doesn't even begin to address abortion, a major roadblock the Senate bill faces in the House. Fox News reports that a coalition of seven House Democrats, led by Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI), has threatened to kill Obamacare altogether if federal funding for abortion is not explicitly prohibited in the final legislation, as it is in the House bill.

So, to appease their colleagues, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) are offering a "pie-crust promise" -- easily made and easily broken -- to remove abortion language after the House vote during the Senate's reconciliation process. Is this realistic, though? "Never before in the history of the 34-year abortion funding debate have pro-life members of Congress approved a bill containing abortion funding on the promise that a subsequent vote will fix the problem," Heritage expert Chuck Donovan argues. In short, the left is resorting to bad procedure to advance an even worse health care policy.

Instead of rushing the process with oddly-structured concessions, and instead of passing the bill to "find out what's in it," as Speaker Pelosi argued, lawmakers should focus on starting over. The American people support health care reform, just not this one.

A better idea would be a reform that upholds core American principles. For example, our experts advocate a state-based approach to reform. "Home-grown reforms tailored to the prevailing conditions in the states make the most sense," writes Heritage health care expert Bob Moffit. So let's start over by allowing states to "compete in the arena of health policy and see which ones best achieve the nation's universal health care goals.

A Sad Bear Story....

This is a very sad story about a bear. Everybody should heed the warning to not feed wildlife because they become dependent and cannot forage for themselves anymore.

The photo below captures a disturbing trend that is beginning to affect US wildlife . . . .

Animals that were formerly self-sufficient are now showing signs of belonging to the Democrat Party.... as they have apparently learned to just sit and wait for the government to step in and provide for their care and sustenance.

This photo is of a Democrat black bear in Montana nicknamed.... Bearack Obearma.

Rousing Endorsement for Obama

Obama has a new fan: Hugo Chavez, Dictator in Chief of Venezuela.

Chavez spoke in glowing terms of Obama during is rambling U.N. speech today. As his "attention getter" he keyed off his comments three years ago when he followed George W. Bush and made the comment that the lectern "still smells of sulfur", alluding to his view of Bush as the Devil incarnate.

Today Chavez looked around the podium and said, "It doesn't smell of sulfur. It's gone. No, it smells of something else. It smells of hope."

Ahhh....another "Hope and Change" devotee.

I'm sure he's seeing in Obama a true kindred spirit, one willing to commandeer private industries and nationalize them. Of someone who'll go after and shut down or nationalize the media to stifle all dissent. You know, "change" in the classical sense!

Along the way he also managed to throw in his lot with Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale and Bill Cosby by stating opposition to Obama's policies is based soley on racisim. He managed to single out Fox News on that one. I bet he'd love to have Fox in Venezuela so he could shut them down!

Nothing beats an endorsement from a brutal, Marxist dictator to boost your political capital. It has to make all Obama supporters extremely proud.

Dear President Carter: Shut up!

Jimmy, with your track record as arguably the worst president in the 20th Century, please keep your opinions to yourself. We don't want to hear them. They have no relevance. They sound like the ramblings of an only slighly coherent old man.

No one is buying the argument that you must be a racist if you disagree in any way with the Leftist/Marxist/Socialist policies of Barack Obama and his Radical Left army of czars. The argument is as ignorant as your Presidential legacy.

I'm tired of the Democrats in this wonderful "post-racial period" continually playing the Race Card over and over and over. In reality, the biggest racists in this country continue to be in the Democratic party and an inordinate number of them tend to be Black.

For the vast majority of us, we don't care if someone is white, black, brown, red, orange, or green. It's the content of your character that matters, not the color of your screen as a wise man once said.

The problem is the content of Obama, Reid and Pelosi's character is sorely wanting. Their ideas represent nothing our Founders would recognize. And the rest of the country is taking a stand against them.

So Jimmy, the next time you get the urge to spew your racist bile, pull that sweater a little tighter around your neck and go back to sleep. We don't want to hear it.

A Word of Advice to Obama and Congress...

I have one very simple word of advice for Obama and Congress:

"Fix Social Security and Medicare, THEN we'll consider healthcare reform."

How anyone can seriously suggest having the government take on another Trillion Dollar program while they have two huge programs already in deep financial kimshee is absolutely ludicrous, and defies all logic.

Oh, and while you're at, Mr. President, shelve Cap-and-Trade. The net result of that litte piece of lunacy will be to devastate the American economy, further assuring our ultimate bankrupty as tax revenues fall even further.

Let's right the listing ship that is the American economy today, THEN consider what issues need to be addressed next, starting with Social Security and Medicare.

A Very Brief Moment of Clarity for Obama

In Obama's Montana town hall meeting yesterday he finally had a very brief moment of clarity.

In response to a questioner who asked him how he was going to pay for it he finally admitted: "You are absolutely right. I can't cover another 47 million people for free. I can't do that. We're going to have to find money from somewhere."

Moments of clarity. Aren't they precious?

In past talks he's suggested moving $500B from Medicare to help cover the Trillion-dollar plus price tag. Unfortunately, this defies logic.

If the plan is to assure coverage for ALL Americans, how can you take money from healthcare for one segment of the citizenry and allocate it to another segment, and still provide for both segments needs?

Another fine example of Obamalogic.

Obamacare:The Audacity of Cluelessness

This entire healthcare reform fiasco would be quite comical if the consequences were not so potentially deadly for Americans and our economy.

You have a President continually spouting blatant lies that are repeatedly shown to be lies by real journalists who take the time to to check his facts. Unfortunately, that's a very small percentage within the mainstream media...true journalism is all but dead outside of Fox and conservative talk radio today.

Following Presidential logic in 2009 can be a real challenge: A major concern is that the currently proposed "public healthcare option" will force private healthcare insurance providers out of business (which we know is his ultimate goal, by his own admission.) To calm these fears in his recent town hall meeting he pointed out that private companies like UPS and FedEx compete quite well against the U.S. Post Office, that it's the post office that's continually in trouble.

Thanks for reassuring us, Mr. President, that government run programs are so notably efficient that they're continually in trouble! Sorta like Medicare that was projected to cost $12B by 1990, but ultimately cost $107B instead? That's my kind of federal program. Using the "We're the post office of healthcare" slogan falls a bit short on the "compelling argument" scale.

Another highlight was when he worked in a dig at the the Bush administration for not providing the funding for Medicare Part D. While Obama wasn't in the senate at the time, all of his heroes in the senate fell all over themselves to support this particular lapse in fiscal judgment by George Bush. Had Obama been there, I have no doubt he would have voted along with the tax-and-spend crowd to approve it.

It was also worth a hoot listening to him try to assure us that the crowd at that meeting was randomly selected and represented a cross-section of views. He then proceeds to field a question (between "Yes We Can!" chants.....but definitely NOT a partisan crowd, right?) from a 13 year-old who happens to be the daughter of one of his Massachussets campaign leaders!

Sheesh.

Mr. President, put the theatrics aside and listen to the American people. While most American agree we need healthcare reform, the vast majority of us DO NOT believe more government involvement is the answer. If anything, we need LESS government!

More importantly, we need TORT REFORM as the first, major step towards true healthcare reform. To propose any legislation that does not address tort reform immediately and automatically should disqualify it as an insincere attempt to address the healthcare issues we face in this country.

Obama's Misguided Approach to Healthcare

Yesterday Obama had the audacity (of no hope!) to lecture doctors for ordering too many tests, thereby driving up the costs of healthcare.

Is he really that clueless?

Doesn't he realize doctor MUST order multiple tests to avoid being sued for malpractice? In our current sue-happy society, aided and abetted by the Democrat's protection of the American Trial Lawyers Association...one of their largest supporters, we have forced our healthcare providers into a constand C.Y.A. mode of practice.

A doctor friend told me awhile ago that in 95% of his cases he could order one test to confirm his diagnosis, then proceed with treatment. But in the current liability climate, and the demands of his medical malpractice insurer, he has to order a multitude of tests to just to protect himself from potential liability.

But costs don't end there. Malpractice and product liability costs drive up the price of EVERYTHING in medical care by orders of magnitude, as manufacturers are forced to take a belt and suspenders approach to everything they provide to our doctors.

Yet discussion of tort (the area of law within which malpractice falls) reform is off the table, as far as Obama is concerned.

And that's before we even get into government mandates that further hobble our healthcare providers. And that's all before this Administrations current round of proposals for MORE regulation and digital record-keeping requirements.

It's exactly this type of myopic view of major problems that is causing this administration to drive us down the road to ultimate economic oblivion.

Meghan McCain: The nut doesn't fall far from the tree

Meghan McCain, daughter of Senator John McCain, has recently demonstrated why the Republican party has lost its way.

She's been criticizing Ann Coulter. Seems Ann's strident style makes it hard for little Meghan to make nice with all her liberal friends.

And therein lies the problem.

When you have misguided lunatics trying desperately to take our country down the socialist path, why in the world would you be trying to make nice with them?

This is precisely the time that you need straight shooters like Ann Coulter calling a spade a spade and making the left own up to their idiocy!

I just read Ann's book "Guilty" and I would highly recommend it. It clearly and cleverly points out the Left's indefensible positions on virtually every issue, while constantly playing the victim card. Put it on your "Must Read" list!

As for Meghan, she's just proved the nut doesn't fall far from the tree. She's a lefty TRYING to say she's a Republican. If Republicans listen to nutcases like her, we're doomed to continued losses at the polls, and our freedoms to ever-expanding government.

Wisdom of Hillary

A note to Obama regarding your villifying of Rush Limbaugh for his criticism of your policies -- Here's a quote from your Secretary of State:

"I'm sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration."

For once, I think I agree with you, Hil!

Quote of the Day

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

-- Margaret Thatcher

Divorcing the Liberals

I'm not sure who the author of the following letter is, but I share his sentiments!

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives,
socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a model separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N.. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and over sized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

You can give everyone health care if you can find any practicing doctors. We'll continue to believe health care is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.

We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWAR which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

Sincerely,

John J. Wall
Law Student and an American

P.S. Also, please take Barbara Streisand & Jane Fonda with you

Obama Administration: Amateur Hour at the White House

In a clever-by-half move to symbolize their desire to "hit the rest button" on our relations with Russia, the Obama administration via Secretary of State Hillary Clinton presented Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with a red "reset" button. The problem is, instead of finding the Russian word for "reset" they managed to use a variation of it that means "overcharged"!

This despite Clinton's proud pronouncement at the event that they worked really hard to get the precise word for "reset"!

This begs the question, with the vast resources of the United States government at their disposal, the Obama administration cannot manage to find ONE person who actually understands the Russian language?

The more subtle humor I found here was that presenting a "red button" to our Cold War nemesis seemed strikingly odd considering the years we spent worrying about who was going to push "The Button" first! I'm surprised they didn't just run down to Staples to pick up an "Easy Button"!

A second display of brilliance occurred with the visit of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Brown presented Obama with a pen holder carved from the oak timbers of the Victorian anti-slaver ship HMS Gannet, once named HMS President. It was a sister ship of the HMS Resolute from which the Oval Office's desk is made. In addition, Brown presented Obama a first edition of a seven-volume biography of Winston Churchill. Both were unique and thoughful gifts.

Showing their equally amazing capacity for thoughtfulness, Obama presented Brown with 25 DVDs of some of Obama's favorite movies.

Nothing like a last-minute trip to Wal-Mart to find a gift for a visting foreign dignitary!

As someone else quipped, this is truly "Amateur Hour" at the White House, and portends endless entertainment for the next four years.

Obama Tilting at the Limbaugh Windmill

You'd think with our economy tanking the leader of the free world might be focused pretty exclusively on resolving it.

Instead, Obama has been sucked into an on-going verbal sparring match with Rush Limbaugh! The sad part is, he hasn't a prayer in a war of words with Limbaugh. It's like a man with a pea shooter getting sucked into a fight with a street gang!

This is not meant to credit Limbaugh's rhetorical style (though he is a master at what he does!) Rather it's a testament to the power of the ideas behind his speech. Limbaugh has the history of the founding fathers on his side. Obama's stuck recycling the repeated failures of long-discredited liberal ideas.
