Rousing Endorsement for Obama

Obama has a new fan: Hugo Chavez, Dictator in Chief of Venezuela.

Chavez spoke in glowing terms of Obama during is rambling U.N. speech today. As his "attention getter" he keyed off his comments three years ago when he followed George W. Bush and made the comment that the lectern "still smells of sulfur", alluding to his view of Bush as the Devil incarnate.

Today Chavez looked around the podium and said, "It doesn't smell of sulfur. It's gone. No, it smells of something else. It smells of hope."

Ahhh....another "Hope and Change" devotee.

I'm sure he's seeing in Obama a true kindred spirit, one willing to commandeer private industries and nationalize them. Of someone who'll go after and shut down or nationalize the media to stifle all dissent. You know, "change" in the classical sense!

Along the way he also managed to throw in his lot with Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale and Bill Cosby by stating opposition to Obama's policies is based soley on racisim. He managed to single out Fox News on that one. I bet he'd love to have Fox in Venezuela so he could shut them down!

Nothing beats an endorsement from a brutal, Marxist dictator to boost your political capital. It has to make all Obama supporters extremely proud.
